Still haven't found any interesting musical applications of the Golden Ratio apart from the golden string which produces an interesting shifting syncopated rhythm.
I read John Chowning did a whole piece which used the ratio everywhere, scales, timing, FM tone ratio's etc. Anyone heard this?

Anyway, I saw on a web page that the ratio was obtained by dividing consecutive numbers in the Fibonacci series, but the numbers need to be quite large to get any accuracy. Much bigger that the maximum usable values in the PartialQuantiser division technique.
A better way of calculating the ratio is SQRT(5) - 1 / 2. I found the square root module posted by Jan but it did not have the range to do SQRT(5), but SQRT(1.25)*2 is the same number and by adjusting the mixer knob to 50%, 1 = 32 so 40 = 1.25. Taking the golden ratio to a multiplier gives me 0.618x12 which is then used by the purple accumulators, they work by adding the ratio to the last value and if greater than 12 (12=1 unit), subtract one unit. The logic out of the compare module is the inverted golden string (1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 etc).
I've used a few to create a more interesting rhythm.
