Hey all! I've already made a few posts, and you guys have been great in responding. Thank you very much!

Just to give you a little background in music for me. I'm currently 29 years old. I began playing Guitar when I was 16. My Dad taught me a good amount of music theory on piano first and then moved it to guitar. I took one semester of theory in college, and I've been taking guitar/bass lessons for the past three or four months picking up as much theory as I can.

I started getting interested in Electronic Music in early 2002. By mid 2002, I had bought my first set of tables and a mixer. By late 2002, I had bought my first serious set of tables and serious mixer. By March of 2003, I was out spinning.

Long story short, I just can't handle the DJing hours while working a 40 hour per week job M-F 8-5. But, I still love electronic music. So, I figured I'd give production a try. I started out a couple of months ago with GarageBand and just the Remix Tools jam pack (no midi controllers or synths at all). Slowly but surely, I have been building up my hardware collection as well as software. I currently use Ableton Live 5.2.1, but unfortunately, I really don't like it's sequencer. So, I'm thinking of either just using GarageBand's sequencer or possibly buying Logic Express.

Right now, I'm in the process of reading up on how Synths work so that I know how to program the microKORG that I have. As far as styles go...I'm mainly into making Downtempo and Trance.

Thanks everyone!

Wes
