welcome
to electro-music.com.

I don't know anyone whose switched from MAX/MSP to Pd, but I'll bet you can find someone here: http://puredata.info/.

I know there are libraries & such for using common externals as extensions to both MAX/MSP and Pd. But I don't know about sharing patches. Would be worthwhile to find it, however.

I'll see what I can dig up, but please post any findings back here!

hi, i've started with max and now i'm slowly migrating to PD...anyway, you can use a .pat in pd but you must have the cyclone library that has some max-objects ported to Pd.
So far, Pd doesn't have all the max externals so you could have some bogus.
As a first step, i suggest you to install the pd-extended version Smile

bye bye

Yeah, I went from PD to Max and my PD files have for the most part not fully worked in Max due to the issue pointed out above... Seems to work both ways... However there are some pretty massive archives of Max and PD externals which can be imported to fix some, but obviously not all discrepancies...

i think one of the best ways to try Pd full working with loads of compiled libs is to install pure:dyne linux distribution Smile
