Clavia ghost talk
So far I didn't want to speculate about the relative silence on the specific issue of a potential update of known betatesters that have been known to frequent these threads, but this gets too tempting: is there any betatesting going on, or is it announced? _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

The G2 doesn't have an N-band parametric EQ, unless I'm missing something. If you do build an emualtion of a Moog 914 filter bank, for example, you use over 1/3 of a G2 slot's CPU and 40% of the memory. |
What I meant by N-band fully parametric is that the Peak Filter gives
you one fully parametric band, and you can connect as many as you
need (within limits) in series to create multiband parametric EQ.
For example, you can do a reasonably convincing violin body with
one fixed lowpass, 2 peak filters, and one fixed highpass in series. |

Hehe, guess the lack of response is in the same category as the 'we deny nor confirm' response. Well, it was to be expected that noone is allowed to spill any beans, so never mind the question. Maybe we should make a very sensitive device that picks up Swedish conversations (see the link in Mosc's last post) or simply bug Clavia's headquarters and send the recordings to EVP specialists who speak Swedish _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

Its good news that clavia states that they plan another update... The last statement i heard was that the stop development to free resources for another projekt..so this is a clear improoved situation...
Its however take some time when i remember the nord stage situation.
So when they launch a new product and have to bring this to a stable state first..and start than developing and betatesting a G2 update...
It will be maybe our 2007 christmas present...
Maybe we should do 1000 new patches up to than as payment for tghe update |

Well, I hope Clavia is working on an OS update, but they are certainly doing other things: check www.clavia.se for the teaser......

From the photo, it appears to be a dual keyboard Hammond wannabe. How 'bout some bug fixes for the G2, Clavia? Last edited by T7 on Mon Dec 25, 2006 6:33 pm; edited 1 time in total |

the wood on the pitchstick was a warning
actually the color of the webpage looks rather brown on my monitor now...
is it?
actually its really likely... the organ emulations became really successful for clavia..but i have heard from people that still prefer carrying a real b3 around especially for the keyboard feel... And the nordstage wasn't offering a organ keyboard that has keys without the little nose on the front...
So organists can glide between the keys better... and 2 manuals are anyway a different thing...
Hopefully so much vintage development in the last year makes them hungry for something strange again... or they dont like synthesizers at all anymore... but...
after grand versions of piano and organ...there is only the synthesiser left as a key instrument..or?
have i forgotten the hammered dulcimer ...what ever this is... |

it could also be a piano (the 2nd picture could be a 2nd shot)... it's got to be a market/sales driven decision/product direction... recently clavia feels a lot more like an organ/piano shop than a synth manufacturer ...
at least waldorf is returning ... and the dave smith little blue box is a really "b*tchin bad-ass monster" (ie I love it!) ... ok, off topic, sorry!
back to clavia, the new look for their website does not seen to feel as nice as the last one imho ... but it is clean and functional

True, but they make money off of The Stage, not software updates for 2 +year old products |

They've re-written the download section. It's a bit more organized now. |

But the keys don't appear to be organ keys, do they? I haven't played many organs, but aren't organ keys more like the keys on Nord Electros? Open on the front end & not with the little ridge that is visible on the photo? I agree with Dasz, it could be two photos merged into one... wait and see I guess. _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

Organ keys, along with the Electro keys, are the same as the ones in the photo, i.e. square-front keys. Also, take a closer look at the photo, the end-cheek is joining the two keybeds a la Hammond B3. In any case I'd bet my G2 it's a Hammond B3 knock off (yawn). |
