This Radio Volta Benefit Show has a main goal to help us pay for our yearly webcasting fees. Just like our radio programming, we want this show to be educational so we will have pamphlets and speakers explaining to the audience how webcasting works and the give background on how Radio Volta runs.

Radio Volta is a project of the Philadelphia Independent Media Center. The station has been broadcasting since the 2000 Republican Convention. What began as a political news outlet broadcast on Pirate Radio and some segments being syndicated locally (on WKDU 91.7FM, WPEB 88.1FM, and WHAT 1340AM) quickly grew to a open format 24/7 Webcast station. There was also a stint for over a year, where Radio Volta had their evening programming simulcast on WPEB FM's signal.

Soon Radio Volta will be moving to the new Philly IMC building, which will be a much more conducive environment to broadcasting. Volta will keep moving forward and plans to further establish and develop the station are in full swing.
