This morning I asked kijjaz if he knew how to make realistic thunder using ChucK, and sure enough he came up with something fast and good! Kijjaz really knows how to make those UGens dance! I added a guitar riff based on progressive XORed terms (and kijjaz's guitar), plus my FFT ligtning and some clouds. Then a flash of light in response to a low harmonic improved the effect. This time I am trying a link directly to the *.mov file, when I click on it I get the file played in another tab (I'm using FireFox on a Mac). Hope the link works for you. Here it is:

The only trouble was that I had to subdue to thunder amplitude to keep it from clipping in iMovie, presumably due to clipping created by rec-auto.ck - That is strange since the sound out of ChucK in real time did not clip at the larger thunder amplitudes. Not sure why that is, but anyway it turned out just fine.

From kijjaz, makes nice Thunder. I added the randomization and upped the frequencies.
