After a lot of hard work, the final, official release of SuperCollider 3.2 is available as of today. Get it here...

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=54622

For those who might not have heard, a SuperCollider book (analogous to the csound book) is due to be published within the next year. This is the version that will come with the book on a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.

As with any healthy open source project, development continues and we will keep improving the platform. This version will be stable for some time to come, however.

If you're using Windows, 3.2 is still in the release candidate testing phase, but the news is good. I've tested out the last several versions on my work laptop, and I would say it's now seriously ready to make music with. It's much more stable now than it was even a couple of months ago, and the issues in the prior release with timing jitter have been resolved. A few niceties still don't work, but the core functionality and even GUI features appear to be solid at this point. Really excellent work from basically just one person who's been driving the Windows port.

I think this warrants a sticky... admins?

Check it out, fun stuff!
James
