Now I came across this today and just thought it was interesting. I own (2) PSP units and have not tried this yet. The price is right also, FREE Wink

http://www.psprhythm.com/index.shtml

It's a sample based sequencer with multi FX!!

Some of the example music is lame but in the right hands, this might be a very cool tool. Even "chippers" out there that have been using "nano-loop" and you Game Boy hand-helds might gravitate toward this Cool

Any thoughts fellas Question

I can't get the page to open right now but it sounds like a pretty cool excuse to grab a psp. Since they stopped making PMA-5s there is really nothing out there for the on-the-go muso.

Cheers,
Adam-V

I thought some might be interested in this. The page is opening for me but I am in the states and it's 8:20AM, Friday. Hope you have luck later Very Happy

I just downloaded all the files and manuals (main and quick start). I will have to give this a go.

More later Very Happy

I do remember the Yamaha QY100, a small compact sequencer that is still out there on the used market just in case you want to check that out. It still sells for a hefty price so it better be good Wink

An artist named Robin Rimbaud aka SCANNER used this sequencer and did some quite interesting music through the 90's during live performances using radio communications gear like scanning receivers to pick up "real time" transmissions (police, fire, aircraft, etc ...) and integrating those live sounds off the airwaves into the live music he was playing. A unnique concept in thought when I saw this. Cool

I have a QY100 - the thing about these gadgets is that I feel that less is more when it comes to handheld devices. You work a lot with the directional cross (the up/down/left/right thing), and it is positioned in an uncomfortable position. Something like that PSP app - although the first impression might be that you'll have to do a lot of keypresses - will have you learn it faster, I think. Also they have put a bigger effort into the ergonomics of the PSP than the QY series, I think.

I acquired a PSP not so long ago to be able to play Patapon - I have an urge to check out this Rhythm thing. I'm a bit of a rookie on the PSP, can this app be installed from a memory stick? Do you have to modify the unit in any way?

/Stefan
