I'm trying to implement a sigmoid shaper curve by implementing the sigmoid formula in a macro.

The formula is 1/(1+e^-t).

The problem is, I can't find a module in Reaktor (version 3) to raise a number to a power. I know there are Log and Expon modules - would that be anything to do with it?

Reaktor 3? Wow, that's old. Here's a solution in Reaktor 5, using the Power function (assuming that function is in Reaktor 3).

I don't know reactor, but expon sounds like x^y or maybe e^x to me.

Hmmm. I just had another systematic look through the modules and there is no power function. I can't believe it!

Thanks, though.

I'm tempted to upgrade but I sent some instruments I made to a mate who has version 5 and they didn't work so I assume there's no backward compatibility and I don't want to lose the use of all my creations.

Or is just because 5 was such a huge leap forward? Would v4 work with v3 ensembles?

I don’t know why they wouldn’t work with V5, but some of the gurus on the NI Reaktor forum might. You could post one there and ask them to give it a try.

Just thought I'd post to say I've found it!

It's a macro, not a module. I don't know why I didn't think to look there - I suppose it just seemed like such a trivial function it would be a module.
