iGendyn is based on Iannis Xenakis stochastic synthesis technique, and is made by Nick Collins from University of Sussex. More info, along with an other free app, on this site:

http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/users/nc81/iphone.html

It is quite simple and fun to play with, it is polyphonic plus it reacts to the accelerator too. It makes quite a variety of noises, depending on how you play it. And it is free. Smile

Interesting apps. I like the toplapapp better, though. That's more interesting to me.

I downloaded both apps. But first, I was subjected to Apple's updated Itunes Store Terms & Conditions. I actually read 64 pages before I realized the text was in an infinite loop of some kind and finally hit the "email the terms & conditions" link and then the "I agree" button so that I could finally download those two apps.

Of the two, iGendyn is more immediately usable. toplapapp has a fun concept, but the execution is unwieldy in that the sliders are too tiny to be usable. I kept accidentally moving or deleting letters as I tried to adjust the sliders.

I like that iGendyn uses the accelerometer, that's fun

not really worked out how the various editable parameters actually affect the sound yet though, so would be interested in feedback if anyone else works this out Smile
