Acid electro. |
 |
|
Hello. This is my first post here.
I love pure electro music, but I am also having difficulties finding good tracks, so my playlist is actually very short. I think I can not specify the actual subgenre of this electro music, but it might be acid.
My playlist consists of 51 tracks, here are the ones I like most in random order by Name-Artist-Album.
-Cabasa Cabasa-Wildplanet-Blueprint
-Electron-Wildplanet-Blueprint
-Bad Science-VA-North/South/East/West
-I-Night-The Units-Warm Moving Bodies
-Voodoo People-Prodigy-Music for the Jitted Generation
-Screw Up-Partysmartie-EP
-Signal-Overwerk-After Hours
-Relapse-Overwerk-After Hours
-Daybreak-Overwerk-After Hours
-Disco Science-Mirways-Disco Scince
-Testarossa Autodrive-Kavinsky
-Tokyo Traffic-Hexstatic-When Robots Go Bad
-Derezzed-Daft Punk-Tron Legacy
-Herzog-Clark-Body Riddle
-& Down-Boys Noise-Oi Oi Oi
-Rocksteady-The Bloody Beatroots
So, if anyone could tell me, how to search, not by listening to hundreds of songs, finding only a single good one I'd be more then glad. I always end up in some electrohouse or vocal electronics which I do not like at all and I seek for electro with a good kick.
A bunch of artist names to strart from would be also great.
Thanks ! |

as an electro evangelicist I would say (proper ) electro is all about that scientific sound - unsettling, understated, syncopated 808 beats.. this one pretty much hits the nail on the head for me:
Der Zyklus - Cherenkov Radiation
while acid is practically a byword for that squelchy sound you get from very resonant filters, e.g.
Jack Frost & The Circle Jerks - Anti Acid
so if you ask me, the list that you have there is mostly electro-house. If you want that more distorted / heavy sound I remember 'electrotrash' was a good keyword - from urbandictionary (of all places): "notable artists include belzebass, cyberpunkers, trashing teenagers, haezer, GSUS, bloody beetroots". Last.fm is a good place for disconvering new music if you don't have much to go - their related artists are often fairly on point. And once you get a little deeper start reading the youtube comments! That's how I find some of my favourite stuff |
