First off, this synth looks amazing...real nice job, and the sound examples Ive hear are great.

I am trying to get it to work on my mac. It seems to work in wine, just cant get audio to work. I can render files but for some reason I cant get it to emit live sound. Anyone done this/know why its not working for me?

Some great work here, would love to see a native OSx version.

I can get some love happening in WINE but the yellow tooltip boxes refuse to go away after I adjust a parameter so it quickly becomes cluttered and unuseable.

I'm on 10.7.5 and using winebottler 1.7.37.

If anyone happens to have any other tips on making it run smoothly on a mac that'd be lovely.

Cheers

D

Hmm .. sorry to hear that about the popups ... pressing the F8 key might make them go away? Or Fn F8 on an out of the box Mac.

Unfortunately it will not be a trivial task to make an OSX version.

I've looked at making the program less dependent on Windows, but I can not get FreePascal and Lazarus to work properly on the Mac ... I did not look into recompiling things with Delphi yet. All the visual elements would have to be redone, and the synth engine itself partly depends on some windows DLLs.

Anyway .. it is on my wish list .. I'd like windows 8 to be my last windows ... like I had my last sony several years ago Shocked Laughing

Just tried it under Wine on a Mac myself ... it sort of works ... but erm .. there is more painting that doesnt work properly here .. like the wires are painted only sometimes and indeed sometimes popups wont go away, sound generation only works properly in legacy mode ... it eats a lot of CPU too ... when popups poup the sound generation stops for a while ...

not at all like how it should work Crying or Very sad

So yeah .. I can understand a request for native support now.

But F8 does work to get rid of the popups .. interesting ...

Thanks for taking the time to look Jan,

As i said above, brilliant work and some really smart looking bits an pieces that surprised my Nord based mentality (that wav player is wicked good).

It's fair enough that it only half works on a semi emulated OS on a system you didn't build it for.

Although I'm currently dabbling in hardware modular, the G2 is the absolute main body of my work (and has been for a decade!) and I live in constant fear of my engine breaking. This is the closest thing I've seen yet to a feasible alternative (reaktor doesn't sound right, plogue has too much putzing around, audulus looked nice but I fell out of favour he started selling basic maths modules as add on purchases, max is too specific - you can't just jam with it, etc.)

Will definitely be keeping an eye on it, keep up the good fight!

Heh, talking about the G2 ... after I ran Wren in Wine on the Mac the G2s would not connect anymore .. luckily a reboot helped Cool

What hardware modular are you working with?
