AC makes sense but DC dosen't (well to me). Surely a direct current on a modulation source would do nothing at all? Excuse my ignorance!

I thought I would bring this up as there is no explanation on the mods page, and adding an explanation would be good for the archives too? ;)

Well, at the risk of not knowing what I'm talking about ...

I'd want my keyboard output voltage to be coupled in DC whereas for modulation AC might be more appropriate.

DC can give a permanent frequency offset, AC can't.

Yeah Jan, that would make sense- I was just seeing it through the idea of the mini-synth being a 'musical noise maker' rather than a 'proper' synth. 'proper' synths bore me I much prefer things that go bump in the night! (no pun intended!!)- If that makes any sense?

Ray's put a block diagram that I did up on his website-

http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/SOUNDLABMINISYNTH/soundlab.html#INTRODUCTION

please feelfree to download it. It was done in 'Intaglio'- a (very good) vector based illustration program for Mac OSX. I can send a copy of the Intaglio file to anyone who wants to modify it etc. (I think you can open Intaglio documents in Illustrator etc)

Tom

Ok, no problem, please then read "steady voltage source" where I wrote "keyboard" :-)

(a fine tune potmeter or a theremin module maybe or ....)
