Hi

A couple days ago, the knobs on my A6 stopped responding. This is pretty weird : all buttons still work, but all knobs except the master volume don't respond. It's like they're not connected : they don't affect the sound and they don't open the edit window on the LCD Screen.

So I did what I had done maybe one year ago : I opened the Andy. I had done that before because I had the infamous "jumpy values" problem. I had opened it and replugged all ribbon cables, and it had worked beyond my expectations. Since then, the A6 had been working perfectly.

So when suddenly the knobs stopped working, I immediatly did the same.It worked. I put all the screws back in place. It stopped working again. I opened the Andy again. I worked with the upper panel opened. I closed it, it stopped working. Well you get my point. Some time I launch the A6, and the pots don't work for 15 minutes, then start working, then stop working again.

I checked, and rechecked ALL ribbon connections. I cleaned everything in it. Everything is correctly tied into place.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem with my A6?

Thanks a lot guys Crying or Very sad

Nicolas

Yes I did. For the past few months the knobs work from time to time...especially when the Andy was warm. Now they don't respond anymore at all. According to the service manual I might need to change the power supply but apart from that I don't know what to do .

might be an idea indeed
due to the age of the elco's and the time they where made, it's about time for most of the a6's to start changing them espec on the powersupply.
question is where can it be done in this part of the world..?
