Good Morning, Allow me to introduce myself.... |

My Name is Jim. Some of my music is electronic and indeed some could even be classed as experimental if you would like to have a listen then I suggest you cast your ears over www.bigoandtwigetti.co.uk. I would also be interested in 'having a listen' to other musicians work so if anyone has any downloads which are possible via a 56kbps modem in under a year please point me to them.
Thanks

Hi Jim
welcome at electro-music.com
for having a listen with a 56K modem you could try
www.soundclick.com and choose "lo-fi"
if you want to check my music go to
www.soundclick.com/seraph
"lo-fi" is really low fidelity but it's better than nothing _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Thanks for the info Seraph, lo-fi downloads sound interesting but as you say the quality makes a big difference. Will check out the hi fi versions once I have a bigger pipe.
So Cyx what makes you say anxious? |

Hi, Jim. Welcome aboard.
Interesting tracks.
| on your web site you wrote: | | Every piece of music created is based upon a solid understanding of music history, compositional theory, recording technology and popular culture. |
I can hear that.
We discuss these things a lot on this site. Hope you contribute. I can hear you have a point of view not unlike many of us; certainly with a different twist.
I don't hear anxiety, per se, but there is an edge to your music; maybe seriousness is a better term. I like listening to it. |

Welcome on board, Jim!
BTW: ( trivia ) mp3 files tweaked for lowfi streams can sound warm and pretty ok... think AM radio.. this amazed me. The files might need a bit of tweaking... some EQ and "mastering" .. but.... low fi streams can sound pretty OK. Obviously of lesser sound quality but not as bad as one might think. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Good afternoon Mosc and electro80. Thanks for welcoming me, checking out the site and cheers for the lo-fi tip. I look forward to sharing a few of those points of view with you at some point.

Anxiety was the best word I could think of at the time, for the tracks I had listened to, and I meant it in a good way. Alot of the music I like has an element of anxiety to it, it's part of the more-going-on-than-may-first-be-evident quality. A good thing, for sure.

A really cool tension is a more appropriate way of saying what I mean, cool tension on a cool groove.
