Hello old friends and new! After many years not being quite satisfied with my online nicknames, I have now and hopefully for the last time chosen a nickname that I really like:

deltamodulator

I've been using it as a gmail addy for quite some time and, though I no longer play Second Life at this time, I did run an avatar with the name deltamodulator and I liked that.

The name is descriptive of a modulation / demodulation technique used in both hardware and software (and I believe in mixed form) for ADC and DAC purposes. A deltamodulation circuit is what I humorously refer to as a "bit wiggler" because it wiggles a bit in a way similar yet different from PWM (pulse width modulation).

Up and down the bit goes over time, approximating an ever-changing analog signal with it's ones density driven into a LPF (low pass filter). Never satisfied, always seeking the truth, it represents the struggles of my life in many ways.

Also I plan for my next and ongoing projects to include deltamodulator inapired circuitry and software along with delay lines, CMOS (complimentary metal oxide semiconductor), and Arduinos.

Enough for now, I have been, am now, and ever shall be...

deltamodulator!

Funny that you would do this now.

I've been considering a name change and my dissatisfaction with my old name has been acute lately. There's nothing particularly interesting, descriptive or attractive about "AEJOTZ" and no one knows how to pronounce it.

My real name is already "taken" by a mildly famous musician, so that's not an option.

Trying to describe my music or name its genre has been an ongoing challenge and I've used several variations. At present I call it retro-futurist synth music. It would be nice to have an artist name that was appropriate.

On the other hand, worrying about such after-creation considerations is counter-productive. I make more and better music when I don't even think about sharing it or marketing it.

I guess the "welcome to elctro-music.com" is slightly redundant this time around Laughing

So I'll just add that the bit wiggling also stands for continuous physical (as in physics) activity, never resting - I'm thinking about the Less Les campaign here, which you urged us to remind you of... I hope you will modulate the one and only body you have been given, so that we and yourself may continue to enjoy your creative exploits for a long time! thumright
