Subject description: Formation of a precise antilog DAC for V/KHz VCOs

I've been looking into a V/KHz VCO architecture, because certain V/F convertor ICs offer ruler-flat linear control voltage response with easy calibration to 1.000V == 1.000 KHz, and frequency range to 10KHz (or more). To get equal tempered scales for musical use, I then started developing a trimless antilog DAC to accompany such a VCO. Such a DAC would allow direct digital input (for example, after processing from a MIDI controller, or alternative controllers, such as a digital sequencer); or it would allow V/Oct response with a suitable flash A/D convertor preceding the antilog DAC.

A particular desired outcome from this system concept is zero temperature compensation required, and also drift-free operation, so that pitch cannot wander.

I've posted the details and the early test results on my Model III EMS blog.
