Hi there. Theremin - that is a nice subject. I remember hearing some russian guy play when i was young. He was really making amazing music.
Might be good for a future project (time, time, time).
No, i don´t need a pcb, i always sit in front of the computerscreen and draw those little lines with a pen. then i etch and smoke a cigarette. What do you need to have a cv-out only theremin? I mean a synth module with 1 antenna and a cv out? Can´t find a schematic anywhere. |

hand drawn PCB´s oh thats art . i really liked to learn that .
i really really like those hand drawn PCB´s from Gijs Gieskes
PS. this is the kind of surface mount that i like. _________________ Association of experimental electronics

But what does it do??
PS this is the kind of 'art' that would make the head of the engineering department choke on his sandwiches!!! _________________ ACHTUNG!

The plugins are powerd from the sequencer. at the moment i have made 3 of these plugins, one walkman, one stylo keyboard, and one 555 thingy.. but the plan is to make more... It uses lsdj as master clock for driving the sequencer. So when you change speed with lsdj the sequencer will change with it in sync. I made it like this becoase i sometimes like to program speed changes in lsdj.. and this gives problems when controling the speed of lsdj externaly. The idear behind the sequencer is for using it more as an add-on effect machine.. ore something like that.. (-: If you want to make the sequencer, feel free to do so. And I would love to see pictures of it. |
so the first is the Seqencer and the second one is one of the plugins (555 thingy)
take a look on schematics on G.Gieskes page _________________ Association of experimental electronics

Nothing hard about it. think you can learn it easy, and it´s fun diy.
5 things are needed:
1 schematic+layout (most of the layouts you find are component side viewed, so you need to mirror them)
2 Pice of copperboard (clean it free from fat with some cleaning powder, best to wear gloves)
3 Waterresistant pen (a thin one and a fat one)+ some ic-holes for rubbing onto the copper)
4 Eching stuff
5 Small "hobby-drill"
One day i thought i just try this, and it worked right from the start! Start with an easy layout. Copper needs to be realy clean, i cover the parts i´m not drawing on at the moment with some paper. Drawing those lines can be tricky, but with a small pen it´s easy to have 3 lines go underneath a normal ic. those rubbing things are great! if your not 100% exact just bend the ic-legs a little so they fit. If two lines hit and they shouldn´t, don´t wory, use the little drill later to remove the copper between. If you paint most of the board you need less eching stuff.
I each with that ugly iron3..stuff, slowly, doesn´t need to be very hot. You see when it´s finished. Drilling those holes is easy if you have them drawn (leaft out) from the beginning, it can be fun if there aren´t more than 50. Have fun!
Someday i´ll have to checkout the photo-methode. propably isn´t that critical too, but i have no equippment. |
