soundlab stripboard |
|
|
hey, Im curently building a soundlab from stripboard and if thought id draw it along the way, The drawings not complete yet and I havnt cheked for errors or tested anything, im not sure if im doing it the most efficient way either, but seeming as noones done it yet. evenually ill have a drawing that will join all the bits up, I just wanted to show it off its pretty useless at the moment as this is the biggest thing ive tackled with stripboard. Tell us if you find any errors, maybee theres a better way to lay it out?. Its based on using the wireing diagram Ray gave for for the front panel.

btw this sound lab is genious thanks ray!! |

ive tested the LFO and it works, the er noise doesnt i need to look at it it could just be a bust IC or quiet transistor, you could quite easily create 2 x LFos from one board the circuits are quite evenly divided each half. you would have to duplicate some of the IC's to make new modules though in some cases as some parts ( ie osc2 shares the LF442 IC with the AR ). Im also translating rays matrixed keyboard design( i hope he doesnt mind me doing all this ) I will eventually make them so you can modules but i have to get the basic one working! |

The noise could quite possibly be the tranny. I had about 10 laying around and some of them seemed to produce very little noise. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

oh well nice to know people are having so many identities on web . . .
i´m trying to stick whit this "dnny" -nick on every place -
whit the Sound Lab Mini-Synth Drum Trigger -mod you can trigger SL whit piezos.
yeah the scope is comming . . . so litle time and so much to do . . . i just got one order of those sequencers i made recently - so first things first -
but i will show the results when i get some

i have found some errors in the VCA
i assume that under the LM13700 there goes a cut on the stripes?
the power pins 6 (-V) and the 11 (+V) are ignored ?
the pin 11 is now connected to Ground. but it should be connected to +V
the pin 9 is now connected to +V but it should be not connected.
the pin 6 should be connected to -V
LM13700 data sheet
all the other things on VCA seems to be ok.
i will try to build this on stripboard soon. so we can see how it works

only the lfo is fully working and tested though , i just got a scope! so it should be esier now |

Hey,
I like the layouts you've done. I was going to separate them out like that to, but I just kept adding more to the one board and ended up with the whole thing. I've just sent Ray a copy of the layout, he should have it up on his site soon.
If you're into stripboarding, I'd definately checkout Lochmaster. It's a nice little program for designing stripboards.

well i just built and tested osilator 1 and it seems to work I get a sawtoth , but er its way up the top of the range i had to put the vertical position knob right to the bottom to view it on the scope do you think its ok?? if this happens does this means that the oscilations hare happening way above 0 volts ? i need to listen to it!
edit : dont worry i found out it has to be on AC |
