I've been in need of a simple and efficient tap tempo delay solution for my patches. I couldn't find one in the archive so I made one myself. Here's what I came up with.

Controls:

TAP 4x - Tap 4x to establish the delay time. The time is an average of the four tapping times. Max delay time is 2 seconds.
FB and LEVEL - Feedback and level controls of the delay.

Have fun.

tim

Without looking at the patches and so having no notion about how good or how bad, relatively nor absolute, just for reference (sorry had to deal with customers today Laughing ) :

Your use of an envelope to measure time is very smart, similar to your looper patches (there it is an lfo i believe). It is one of those "why wasn't I smart enough to think of this" things. Thanks. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more elegant than my dsp consuming and inaccurate tables.
BTW: shouldn't you press 5 times to get the mean of 4 taps? Or disconnect the 4th clock delay? (edit: deleted incorrect bit here).

Here's another simple solution using the zero crossing counter and an LFO instead of the shift-register. It uses 2% more DSP, but less mem% (less module outputs).

Small change in Tim's setup so that it fits my personal prefs for use with an e-drummer that may change delaytimes often (to be midified; here it's just a momentary switch). Takes two taps to set tempo, but only if these two taps are within two seconds of each other. If longer than two seconds are in between, another two hits are needed (usefull to not mess up delays when making uneven number of taps). And optional glide for delay-time adjustments.
BTW: the test circuit should of course be deleted for normal use (drum oscs).
