rules:
put your entire .mp3 collection into something like winamp, hit shuffle and list the first 20 tunes that it plays on random (except the 1st tune which will by default be the first tune in your mp3 collection).

no cheating! if it comes up with a Kylie Minogue track, you aren't allowed to leave that out. let's have some honesty! Wink

the reason for this is that i found myself listening to open heart surgery whilst tidying my bedroom, courtesy of the Radiophonic Workshop. it seemed to tickle me pink for some reason.

01. Prince - private joy
02. Radiohead - bones
03. Yoko Kanno - hallelujah
04. Art Blakey - free for all Cool
05. Slayer - hardening the arteries Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad
06. Average White Band - school boy crush Laughing
07. William Byrd - i'm going to my naked bed
08. Prokofiev - Concerto No. 3 in C major Op.26 perf. Natasha Paremski
09. Gidon Kremer - Le Boeuf (wow! this is awesome)
10. 8bit rockers - kitty's theme
11. Chick Corea And Origin - straight No Chaser
12. White Stripes - when i hear my name
13. new model army - stupid questions
14. chicken lips - lola/wax the van
15. DJ Rob Hall - live in austin texas 2001 (the mercury room)
16. silicon scally - infomatics
17. kinesthesia - triachus
18. zeta reticula - untitled
19. Jaco Pastorius big band - killing me softly
20. Bori Berzovsky - Godowsky: Transcription of Op.10 No.11 & No. 25 no.3 Combined in F major. (well that's what the track title says anyway...)

Uh... I only have ALL the original samples from the complete PPG Waveterm Sample Library in iTunes here on the Macbook. The lost would basically be all sorts of bleeps.. adn blurts and ...

Hey! I just tested a random play of all these very short files.. most are a sec or 2 long.. I imagine it sounds like a bad day at the Radiophonic Workshop. Laughing

heh... ok, i'll let you leave those out if you like...

to be fair, the bbc radiophonic samples are only about 4 CD's for some reason. i've moved the others into a "SAMPLE" folder on another hard drive but left a few long ambient ones, like "sheeps pens" or "busy roads".

i'm so in love with Ligeti's work at the moment, particularly the nonsense madrigals.

also, i'm loving my new discovery, Franco Battiato, after hearing the "sanctus" from his "Shadow, Light" work.

apparently the Gomez tune 78 Stone Wobble is a play on words, referring to the fact that old 78 records "don't wobble".

i've got a treasured 2nd pressing of "an electronic storm". so so good. my favourite track always changes. right now it's "here come the fleas" which used to be my least favourite track.

funnily enough, when i had the album on mp3 i always used to skip that track, but now i have the album on vinyl i look forward to hearing it. ah, the psychology of medium.

so how does one aquire a copy of this Kassen/Legowelt extravaganza?

Since most of those songs were guitar based and/or mainstream pop, I'd say I am the alien around here. cyclops At least I managed to get a Pan Sonic track in...
