Randomized Vibrato
Human-created vibrato is uneven in both frequency and depth. This is the first model where we’ll build a circuit that attempts to do this.
In the patch below, the vibrato circuit is on the left. Its source is a standard sine LFO. Each time the LFO’s waveform passes zero, it triggers a pair of random voltage generators. The output of the top generator varies the LFO’s rate, and the output of the bottom generator varies the LFO’s output level. Thus, each cycle of the waveform is likely to have a slightly different period and level.
The four vibrato parameters, Rate, Amount, Random Rate, and Random Amount, are brought out to the LFO section of the G2’s front panel.
