One of the big drawbacks of the G2 is that synchronising oscillators to each other causes really bad(!) artefacts, because the sync pulse is jittered by the sampling frequency. Eg., Typical sync lead sounds in middle to high registers are totally unusable on the G2.

Here's my idea: A SyncOsc module, which is actually two oscillators under the hood -a synced slave osc driven by a hidden master osc. It would have the regular pitch controls and inputs, waveform selection (perhaps PW/PWM too), and an unipolar positive "sweep" control and/or input to sweep the pitch of the slave osc upwards above the base frequency. (This would be quite similar to the NL3 oscillator in sync mode, where the "shape" knob becomes the pitch control of the slave osc.)

In such a hardwired module, it would be possible to implement the DSP programming technique (MinBLEP) to synthesise oscillator synchronisation properly on a digital system.
