Mad Summary: I've been trying to get my MIDI setup to work on this Mac laptop, for about an hour, and it's slowly driving me INSANE.

Mad Information: I connected the midi-usb cables and keyboard properly. The LED lights on the MIDI cable indicate the cable is getting a sound signal. I downloaded the correct Mac driver for the MIDI cable and installed it.

Mad And now...it just won't work! And I am going insane!

Details: M-Audio UNO MIDI cable. Mac version 10.4.10. Using Garage Band. Tried M-Audio instruction manual-absolutely no help, a total waste of time. Tried Mac help-no help. Tried Garage Band help-what a joke.

Shocked Help me, o great MIDI wizards of Electro land. You're my only hope.

Thank you for your time very much.

You are aware of the Audio-Midi Setup application in Applications/Tools ?

If not.. look inside Applications/Tools and launch the app.

The full path name is (your disks name )/Applications/Tools

When given a chance I'll try the setup on a different Mac. By chance I know someone with a slightly newer Mac lap almost identical.

Although I must admit that I am pessimistic, seeing as it is a quite new, and seemingly flawless machine.

I'm now thinking that I might need to manually "tell" the computer that the new device is there (in applications/utilities midi setup thing)...although obviously I don't know what I am doing.

Thank you for helping me out here, seriously, even if I still can't get it hooked up, I am quite appreciative. Like I said, I really don't know what I'm doing.

P.S. The funny thing is that when my friend asked me if I could hook up the Midi I was like "Ooooh yeah, piece of cake. No problem." I sure ate my words on that one!

go to the m-audio web site, download the driver for your OS and try reinstalling it again.
there is no usb-hub involved, right? Cool
