farao

There is a guitar in there, but it feels like a synth pop song anyway.

Erm.. no, but i see what you mean. Firefox has problems with the link on both Mac and XP, but Safari and Internet Explorer seem to manage. Oh well, I've attached the song to the first post. Big bucks proprietary browsers win over Firefox on this one, it seems.

you are right Shocked safari loads it correctly, Firefox doesn't. never seen anything like that. nice song Very Happy I would turn the bass volume down a little or I would equalize it differently. it is too invasive for my taste (but that's me Wink )

Could be something wierd with the mp3 perhaps - I use SoX to convert from wav to mp3.

Thanks for listening - point noted. Smile I realise I've probably been a bit heavy on the bass - I think it's because I like listening to my Evolver more than most of the other stuff.

Yeah I noticed when you make something on headphones sometimes the bass is way way too loud. The CD's I gave out at E.M. 08 have this problem on the first track due to the fact that I mixed it down on head phones.

I'd comment on the track but I've got 56k internet here, and it's more like .056k most of the time so I'll have to hear it another day.

Take it easy...

There seems to be something odd with the bass here as well, but it's a nice song still!

I would say it occupies a range of frequencies that's too wide and it ends up covering everything else. vocals in particular.
that's a problem wih many synth sounds. by themselves they sound great but when you mix them with other ones they make a mess.
try using one of the demo sound of any synth in your next song Twisted Evil

Actually, earlier on I had a version that was just the bass, guitar, vocals and some percussion effects. Maybe I should have stuck with that instead of wanting to add more synth stuff, and also EQd the higher frequencies of the bass.

I'll try to keep this in mind for my next little project - thanks!
