I have developed a dead key on the upper manual of my C1 just wondering if anyone has had the problem and how do I recifify the problem...

welcome barstar

I don't owe a C1, but I think it almost the same as all other Clavia instruments.

I think you can remove the red hood by un-screwing some of the screws at the sides and underneath the machine. Maybe you can find some clues in this thread, in which opening the hood of the Electro2 is given.

At least you can investigate the keyboard then. Maybe it just removing the cap which shields the contact and clean it, I really don't know.
If you feel in-assure about this, leave it to a service technician.
I assume you bought it in a shop, so better return it there (there aren't that many second hand C1's yet, I believe...)

thanks for the feedback...thats what I was thinking couldn't be too serious...hoping that each key has it's own contact that could be replaced if necessary

Well, knowing Fatar a little: the contacts are placed on a print supporting a complete octave...
Check it out. Always handy if know as much as you can about the problem before sending it into service...
