Knobs have a mind of their own... |
 |
|
I've seen this posted before but can't find it. Anyway...
I've had my A6 for two years now and have never had a problem with it. Over the last month I haven't used it very much because I've been spending a lot of time with my modular. I turned it on for the first time in several weeks last night and noticed that the knob parameters have become very jittery and move on their own. For example I was adjusting the croute for the mod wheel and when I let go of the knob the value for that parameter kept jumping around at random for several seconds until I turned the knob again. What causes this? _________________ http://recoilsun.bandcamp.com/ |

| It might be nothing more than a loose ribbon connector... See this thread. |

That's worth looking into but this keyboard has been sitting in the same spot for two years. It hasn't been moved at all. _________________ http://recoilsun.bandcamp.com/ |

It could be a loose ribbon cable but my first guess is that it's probably dust. I have the same problem, got in contact with a technician in another city and he told me that most of the times it's dust sneaking inside and causing all this weird behavior. I will have mine serviced once I move there.. |

I think it was dust. After twisting all the knobs a bunch of times it stopped doing it. Is there a way to clean encoders? _________________ http://recoilsun.bandcamp.com/ |
