Hi all,

As mentioned in the G2 forum discussion on detuning oscs, here is the set of Chroma template patches I made a while back to replicate the Chroma sound, along with a few complete patches based on these templates.

Note that the Uni Lead and Uni Bass patches are a little different - they don't replicate the Chroma filter sound exactly, but they are attempts to replicate the Chroma's massive 'unison' mode. To use these, load the same patch into two slots on the NM1, and use knob1 to set each slot to a different amount of detuning. Huge!

Howard & Jan - It seems that I can only attach three files at a time (hence the multiple emails). Is that intentional?

I don't know about that, Howard will have to answer it.

And wow, once you get the hang of it you for sure can post faster than anyone can download :-)

The forum software has a limit that is adjustable that is set to 3 by default. I think the low number is to protect the server from an attack that loads zillions of attachments. I tend to think 3 is probably all one should reasonably expect to work reliably over an HTTP connection.

Hmmm... somehow the patch files I downloaded got corrupted, the Modular Editor would not load them. I opened a couple with a text editor and found that they had extra carriage return / line feeds between each line. I deleted the extras and now the patches will load.

Thanks Dave for posting these CHROMA templates! They are very good example of a different hardware synth architecture. People unfamiliar with the CHROMA can "get a look under the hood". Even if the patches are not used directly, the templates may be used as inspiration for new unique modular patches.

I've also enjoyed many of the other patches that you have posted for both the G1 and the G2. Keep up the good work!

Are these rthe dame Patches as in http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/010_NordModular/011_Patches/Peck_David/ChromaPolaris/
or are these also corrupt... Shocked

Corruption could be the result of the server crash about a year or so back. Mad

Hi Wout!

It looks like they are the same patches in that location, maybe one exception. But I just checked several of them in that location and they all download & open OK, no need to replace them.

...Not sure why it says "Polaris" in that location, these templates are based on the big Chroma, not the Polaris. But a minor detail.
