Hi folks, Mathe (electri-fire) and I are putting together a Lunetta workshop for the em10 festival. The fee is $48 US and for that you get a full set of supplies for breadboarding Lunettas including a breadboard, chips, discretes, wire, tools, and a pair of cheap headphones.

We'll start with the simplest of all Lunettas, an adjustable square wave oscillator, then probably build the Heterodyne Space Explorer and other circuits. I will be teaching my neat-freak breadboarding technique which is great for making good breadboarded circuits that are easy to debug and understand. The method takes a little more time than the usual "rat's nest" approach and it's really worth the effort.

There will also be a half-hour performance that you may optionally join.

If you have any ideas or thoughts about the Lunetta workshop, please post them here, thanks.

Les

Do people need to bring their own soldering iron?

I will bring my soldering iron. There will be little or no need for soldering, but just in case...

Will you require people to sign up for this in advance?

Incidentally, my son, Eric, is coming to the festival and I think he may want to do this!

Friends, yes it is necessary to sign up ahead of time because we have to buy parts and tools before the festival. The $48 budget is maxed out with cost so there will be little or no profit, just lots of fun for all of us... The completed project will be a double breadboard which is nice and flat plus some chips and tools, so it packs into a suitcase with about the size of a folded shirt.

The date by which you must apply for the Lunetta Workshop is August 15th. We need a few weeks to get the kits together, so if you plan to attend, please apply by August 15th. Thanks.

That looks cool. I wish I was going to be there, because I would love to learn how to build one.

You can order a kit for $48 plus shipping i guess. Kits have all you need to get started in the Lunetta hobby and do lots of unique circuit projects. We're working on documentation as well plus of course you have the forum for info to get started and probably never stop...

The Lunetta workshop sign-up deadline is quickly approaching. Please reserve a spot for yourself if you are interested by Sunday 8/15/10. Thanks!

Les

p.s. so far we have only two participants, though several people expressed interest...

Hi Les,

I know I'm a day late here... I'd like to reserve two slots... one for me and one for my son, Eric.

Thanks!

Done, Kevin! We have only four people in the workshop, which is great because Mathe and I will be able to do some real one-on-one hands-on teaching (and learning...). Looking forward to it...
