If you want a ring modulator into which you can plug a guitar, that includes an oscillator (and an LFO), and that is built like a tank, you might consider one of these. Shops such as NovaMusik often sell these at significant discounts.

If, on the other hand, your real aim is to learn how to build your own, then you'll have to ask someone else Smile

Thanks, but I'm not looking for an effects unit. I don't want it to be active all the time, just to use one note here and one there, like how someone would use a whammy bar. ...If you get what I mean.
