uploaded mp3 for all the non-soundclickers. I spent quite a bit of time on this and would love to hear what you all have to say about it. Happy new year everyone! _________________ www.soundclick.com/bluebox |

well recorded..nice mix..good pallete of tones..reminds of Kit Clayton
but does it have a strong enough theme, or does it seem to be just a series of sounds following one after another , that at one point just merely stop at the end of the song and not really finish itself ?
i can also hear a certain something in the work..perhaps 'overworked' ? micro managed..
i know this is IDM and that is part of the aesthetic, but there can be a fine line between this and just plain over-thinking the process and not letting it flow _________________ Spiral Recordings |

this is really nice... If you turned down the percussion a bit, it would bring out those nice subtle melodies more. Really good track, though! I'd like to hear more songs from you. _________________ www.avanvranken.com |

Lovely track this, very well produced, can't really give you any critique.
Thanks for sharing!

whoa, many thanks to all for the kind words! I agree paul e. that the track may have a bit too much going on but thats how I wanted this to flow, lots of sonics firing off all over the place with some abrupt dynamic shifts, I personally dont think its to the detriment of the track though. to vanvranken, i actually debated quite a bit on how high the percussion should be mixed in, as it is now i think it does come off a bit harsh to the ears but I thought it worked well with the rather chilled melodies. I was really torn about how "nice n easy" I wanted to make this to listen to, still not sure if I got it right. haha, whatever though im rambling, thanks for the feedback and criticism folks, good to know you all are diggin the track. _________________ www.soundclick.com/bluebox |
