Although I did not attend this year I did manage to listen to many performances
via the stream, and all I can say is I wish I had been there- if only to applaud!
Great stuff folks! |

Well, on behalf of my sisters and brothers who will certainly respond in time, electro-music 2011 was a blast! And, thanks to you all for supporting us by listening and working on the stream! _________________ When the stream is deep

Well I put in my share on making the stream happen, and I am glad it is appreciated as much as it is. I wish we could do better, but we do have recordings of everything... Special thanks to Jan for all of his help.
Last year, when we found all the outgoing ports blocked for our streaming, I submitted a trouble ticket with their IT department. Of course nothing happened at the time and we used a proxy to get out. This year they seemed more wise to the proxy, but someone must have eventually got round to dealing with the ticket because those ports were open. This actually helped us a lot and got us on the air a lot sooner.
Jan helped immensely, especially as we had to drop to a 64k stream. This is the YMCA's link to the internet, which their entire organization uses one gateway, so congestion for streaming really is an issue. I think some of the staff were using internet access too occasionally, and when it got out of hand I would walk around and ask people to stop downloading or whatever. Frequently this was the case.
So we'll get a rebroadcast at some point. I really want to thank Adam Holquist (onewayness) for all of his help. It was very welcome and appreciated (and needed). And he's good at it.
Also Steve and Jez helped out with streaming. Howard was pretty busy actually, this year, and did some streaming duty but also he did a lot of other stuff - we were all kept on our toes this year.
Glad you got to hear it though. The music this year was fantastic. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

I had a blast. I could only make it on Saturday, although I wish I could have made the whole festival. Hopefully next year.
I really enjoyed this. Thank you so much for organizing this. _________________ Glenn Robitaille

Thanks Paul. It was my pleasure, I had a lot of fun doing it.
And thanks to those who kept me company in the chatroom. Was nice to not feel completely like I was talking to myself. Lol.
Cheers,

Another Great Year Subject description: Many Thanks |
|

Thanks so much to all those who came and participated in this wonderful event. It was great so see you again and to make the acquaintance of our new friends. I would also like to thank everyone who listened to the webstream. I wish you could have been there.
Previous participants who were unable to attend were sorely missed.
In regards to DIY, Adamon and Aether Generator stole the show. Their DIY gadgets were visually arresting and rich with wonderful sounds.
The video content in this years event was AWESOME. The best I've seen yet. There was less digitally generated, kaleidoscopic images and lots of black and white, stock footage from news reels, old commercials and avantgarde videos excellently choreographed to the music. The choice of images had a tremedous psychological impact.
I congratulate Project Ruori, Machine Eat Man, Hylantown and Michael O'Bannon for doing such a great job with their visuals.
I would especially like to thank Ken Palmer (PYXL8R) and Charles Shriner (dRachEmUsik) for their music and their participation in Symmetry and, last but not least, Greg Waltzer, Mike Victor and, our newest element, Loop B for a stellar Fringe Element performance.
As usual, I look forward to all the photos, videos, feedback and musical possibilities stemming from EM2011.
Howard, Greg, Hong, Paul, Genevieve YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!

As I posted on Synthtopia
http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2011/09/06/2011
I had a great time. Although I have not attended since Kingsport TN. 2008
I attended this year for Saturday night And Sunday until just after performing with
Fringe Element joined by special guest ( Loop B ) on percussion.
All of the performances I got to see were full of inspiration.
These electro-music attendees artists and observers are passionate about their art.
And everyone gets to leave with a lasting memory and yearning for the next years festival
I would liketo thank everyone that attended any of the festivals through out the years for their support and dedication.
See you in 2012. _________________ "I'm the transmitter' I give information."
