yes, has to be the 23rd where you are.

I'd like to know how they did it. Surely not pure Javascript.

If it is still the 23rd in your timezone, the Google logo should be drawn on the panel of a minimoog-ish synth in honor of Bob's birthday. The synth is playable.

Brilliant piece of work! And did you notice the 4-track recorder to the right of the synth?

It won't work with Internet Explorer though. Use Chrome or Firefox.

The text suggested that I should use a "modern browser" - they prolly meant it needs flash on firefox?

A Mini Moog'ish soft synth with a 4 track reel to reel recorder - it's Bob Moog's 78th birthday Smile

It works fine with IE9 here.

Here's a brief explanation of how it works. It says the "Web Audio API" is used in Chrome. No word on how it makes the sound in other browsers.

That's great! I saw this prior to this thread being posted but for some reason it didn't work. It's works now though! Works with Safari fine.

^ The synth you linked to doesn't work on IE - I get a "Web Audio API not supported in this browser" error (I've seen that before) and a half drawn panel. Thus the Google Moog must use something else to generate the sound when running in IE....

Edit: it uses fallback to Flash for browsers other than Chrome.

Slightly OT: Curiously, I've found that Chrome is the least effective browser when it comes to rendering html5 canvas (besides IE prior to IE9).
