Hello from a given up wannabe EM producer! |
 |
|
Hello everybody,
I am Sir Joe from Germany (or at least living there now).
I want to make EM since I am 18, which is 20 years.
But I am so fast with my head that I quickly get discouraged when I see that my technical limitations, lack of knowledge about programs etc, do not allow me to realize my idea as I have them in my head.
For this reason at one point I had thought that the perfect solution for me was beatbox looping. Because this is how I was "composing", or demoing.
And I was quite right. I have bought a Boomerang looper pedal and started playing around. It was fun, but once again my head was too fast, so I have bought more things to do what I had in my head, and suddenly it was way too much. Also because, well, life, other things happened and took me away from the musical path.
In the while I had recorded some experiments, at first only made with voice, then voice and synth, but always all only with looper, recorded in ON TAKE ONE TRACK in Ableton, no editing, no cut.
I then had a quick second attempt, I sold all my stuff, kept only Ableton, asked a friend to teach me something, and tried something out.
Unfortunately my friend had to move away and I've never had the discipline and patience to learn how to use Ableton and Max to compose, make effects, realize what I had in my mind.
My dream would be if I would live in a shared flat with full time musicians and DJs and Music producers and singers
So they could teach me how to use the programs, or just record my beatbox and remix it together.
That is unfortunately unlikely to happen.
Anyway.
I have found some things I had made 2 years ago.
So I decided to post them.
I am not sure if this is the right Forum. If it is not, maybe you can suggest me the right one?
Here my works (in -stopped- progress):

ableton: https://soundcloud.com/s_joe/sets/ableton-experiments
Feel welcomed to comment
My ego would enjoy some compliments, but my heart would enjoy more some real opinions to make me see things without pink glasses so that if I have no talent I do not even think about starting again.
But if you think I should, then some tips, suggestions, and what if and here this and there that could be cool!
Thanks! |

Really? Wow, cool
Maybe you could also tell me which ones you like more and why?
Yeah, I know, it is all subjective, and each would say a different thing, but, it still helps.
Hmmm, how am I supposed to upload here? And where?
In the "Online Music" Forum?
EDIT: found out.
I did it.
Thanks! |

Hi, thanks for that.
Yes, I understand what you mean.
Those three are probably the more happy and energetic. |

Sir Joe,
Once I started listening, the adventure continued. A very awesome style, in my humble opinion. Glad that you are revisiting your talent and your passion.
Great Looper Magic you have, Follow the Force Sir Joe, Heed the Call. |
