I think i will get one of these. I like ableton live, but i wan't to see if the launchpad works with the monome programs. It would be an affordable, rgb alternative.

I think some of the comments on the monome site are too dramatic, about how beautifull the monome is and blah blah.

Needless to say, the crowd at the monome forums went through the roof in a fury when they got a whiff of this.

Having gotten used to the possiblity for customization and OSC control on the monome, I'm kind of annoyed that the big commercial makers of these kinds of devices aren't inspired by the openness, but rather make these kinds of dedicated devices. Still, I guess someone might crack it so that it can be used as a kind supersized monome 64.

Based on what I have seen so far, the short answer is "no".

Monome is not just for Ableton Live use. It is an intentionally mimimalist design that is agnostic of any particular app.

Whereas the Launchpad was clearly designed for integration with Live.
