Hello everyone.

I want to build a MIDI to PAiA "protocol" device, to keep my PAiA as original as possible.

PAiA developed their own computer control methods and software around 1977. It was the 8700 computer controller, and a series of modules, of which, the QuaSH is, for me, the most useful and interesting: it is an 8 bit quad multiplexed DAC, and the whole system is expandable up to 16 channels.

The idea is to implement as many features from their sofware inside the interface: arpeggiator, sequencer, etc. (they are best described in their catalogs).

I have an arduino and a general understanding of both the paia and the arduino... but that´s it. I need someone to guide me thru the whole thing, whichwill be posted here when complete.

Anyone interested?

I am interested in this thing and will try and like to help you.
I do Arduino programming a lot and kind of 'know' what's possible.
I builded a Midi code for my argeggiator, and midi handling is straigt forward.
And i searched for the QuaSH, the system looks cool and great for many possibilities.
Where did you begin, what's the status of your project now.

Hi! Great news.
I THINK I redrawed the quash PCB, gathered all the paia documentation, downloaded several midi libraries and an emulator (for the arduino) to "see" what the paia software would output.
Maybe something more, I'll check.

Hello, thanks for the reply, going a bit further, first a simple question, why do you not use the system itself, do you not have the computer controler.
Anyway, will you share your doc's with me so i can look at it and do not have to find them all again. Send me a pm (personal message) so i can give you my E-mail adres.
And multiplexing is done in several Arduino-sketches; do you already know what kind of
data the QuaSH is reacting to.
And keep on making great MuSiC, Dian from the Netherlands

Arpeggio:
I found this blog post, and commented. Check it out.

I have been very busy with other projects, I apologize. But I`d like to make this happen, with your help.
