Saw this on Synth-DIY forum some weeks ago.

Sort of a yawner for me though, I've got old equipment that I intend to keep and no plans to buy new equipment.

Since the only devices that will actually use the new speed and features are new devices, not much of a point for me.

For musicians who are buying new stuff, it looks great. I have found methods to keep from cluttering MIDI 1.0 so I'm still good. I also design my own MIDI DSP devices, so I can incorporate things like zipper filters for jumpy controllers.

Too bad this wasn't available when I started with MIDI. And sheesh, it took 'em long enough.

This is exciting news! However, I recently got myself the Novation SL MKIII and I don't want to have to upgrade already!
