introducing dnny |

Hi all.
last night i was thinking that maybe its time for me to introduce.
some of you know me from the Soundlab, DIY, and Circuit bending forums.
okay. my name is Daniel Vera and i was born in august 1979 in Helsinki.
(at the moment I'm 26). my mother is Finnish and my father is Chilean.
i have studied to be photographer but that's for me like a hobby not a job.
as my main job i do entertaining lights and repair of dimmers.
as i work as freelancer i do lots of other stuff also- mostly live broadcasting of surgeries, and cable making / repair. BTW i love cables. my favorite cables are thick power multicores, whit Socapex 19pin connectors. they are used to feed the light fixtures from the dimmers. one cable can carry 6 x 5.7kW!
i found my way to electro-music forum from www.musicfromouterspace.com.
when i started my SoundLab building wich is still on construction. from there i got interested to building DIY synth stuff. and circuit bending. and now I'm totally hooked.
i can't play any instrument properly (wich you know if you have heard my sound samples )
that's why i like random and sequenced music and weird noises. I like more building than playing.
i think this forum is the nicest , i have really enjoyed being part of it. don't worry i will be here in the future also.
thanks for everyone who made this forum possible.
this is me whit 500meters of optic cable

I do a bit of home surgery sometimes here in the lab. (I sunk a hacksaw blade into the side of my finger yesterday!) Maybe I should get a webcam and set up some live streaming. Is there any money in it? _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

That is a facinating picture.
Well, saying welcome would be a bit belated, but nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to write this Introduce Yourself posting. You have made a tremendous contribution to electro-music.com - it wouldn't be the same without you. Your enthusiasm, friendliness, and helpfullness are inspirational...
BTW, I visted Finland back in 1988. We spent two weeks there. There was an ISCAS confernce in Helsinki hosted by people from Nokin and Tampera University. After it was over we rented a car and drove all over the place. What a great time we had. Everyone we very friendly and almost everyone spoke English superbly. We even took an overnight trip to Leningrad - before the name change even. _________________ --Howard

but i guess that most of you are used to this kind of mistakes when it comes to me.
for Carlo:
there is actually quite a lot of surgeries being broadcasted, mostly for medical conferences ,and educational purposes.
it's easier for a class of students to be in auditorium and watch the surgery, than to take the whole class to the operating theater.
it's have to be live broadcast so that they can ask questions from the surgeon. we mostly use satellites for transmission but for shorter distances less than 30km we use microwaves, X band (8GHz to 12GHz).
to get to our microwave link/ uplink car (if satellite) we take the signals trough a optic cable to the roof where the link is.
and for U.Krunkus:
don't hurt yourself more - even if someone pays you.
I'm sure that somewhere here on Internet there is a forum for DIY surgery:) if you want to learn some new tricks _________________ Association of experimental electronics
