I have been working on this new version of Nemo Variations for a while now. I've added an introduction in 12tET but the rest of the piece is in:
Quote:
// Scale Name: "Ptolemy's chromatic scale (Carlo)"
// Author: "Carlo Serafini <carlo>"
// Created On: 17 Oct 2006
// Repeat Ratio: 2:1
// Scale Pattern: 1/1 16/15 9/8 6/5 5/4 4/3 45/32 3/2 8/5 5/3 9/5 15/8

Now I need a rest to decide what to do with it. I have done it because of my microtonal studies.

New version posted on January 7th, 2007

Fantastic. I like this a great deal. The new tunings really adds an element that enhances the listening experience.

Splendid and superb...

This is really beautiful music.

I would like to quote Brian McLaren:
Quote:
What "microtonality" does to music is the same thing tabasco sauce and ginger and lime juice and Thai peanut sauce does -- it takes an ordinary experience and heightens it. Microtonality is to music as perfume is to a beautiful woman. Microtonal tunings do for a composition what a wedding dress does for a young bride n her wedding day. Adding microtonality to a melody takes a black and white photograph and hand-colors it in a million resplendent hues. Adding microtonality to harmony converts all-upper-case text to lower-case letters and adds punctuation and space between the words.

not bad eh?
btw, thanks guys for your nice comments Very Happy

Sounds good to me. Very Happy

Probably better than treason or heresy. Wink

I person said on that forum: "This is powerful and stirring. It sent chills down my spine and brought tears to my eyes." That is pretty powerful, congratulations...

well...following Robert's (aka bachus) advice I have modified the introduction of this piece. I have replaced the piano with strings and oboe. so the attachment you see on the first post it's a new one. the oboe sound comes from my Yamaha VL70m played with breath controller.

Yes it is beautiful and with just the right amount of twist. Your use of unfulfilled cadential expectations is most effective.
