A6 serial numbers Subject description: Trying the find out the sequence :-) |
       |

  |

Looking at two known serial numbers, I was wondering if people are willing to post theirs here, so we can determine what the numbers mean as far as possible?

(21)A10407045700043

(21)A10806045700936

The first one is from an older A6, the last one from a new batch, so I guess the first 04 and 08 describing production year, then it makes sense that the second 07 and 06 tell the production month and I guess the last three digits give the actual production number of the particular year (not necessairely meaning the numbers go up with 1 from number 1 on).

More serialnumbers will give a better insight. If you are not willing to post the number of your specific A6 in this thread, please send it to me privately and than I will post it here so no one know who'se A6 it is (except me ) _________________ Something Completely Different

happy new year and best wishes !

and here is my serial:

(21) A6003020900021 sunny's!

( really don't understand any problem giving serials; even proofs this one is Mine, so lets everybody know that !) 003 might indeed be year: 9-2-2003 and number 00021 Last edited by sunny pedaal on Thu Jan 01, 2009 8:04 am; edited 1 time in total |

scd has posted mine. I'm sure there's probably no harm in posting them, I just wasn't sure.

Thanks scd for starting this thread. |

lets give it a try/just a guess:

suppose serial1red +some blackversions

            serial2 1-1000

            serial3 2000-3000 ( with "A1")

would get something like this: | scd wrote: | (21)

       A6 003020900021

(21) A6 003040300107

            6003020300116

   (21) A1 0407045700043

   (21) A1 0607045700587

   (21) 10607045700596

   (21) A1 0806045700936

 |

more easily written :serialnumbers:

 030209-00-021

 030403-00-107

 030203-00-116

  040704-57-00043

  060704-57-00587

  060704-57-00596

  080604-57-00936

it's just a guess, in fact i've no clue, is there anybody knowing more 'bout it?

and this meaning 2-3000 ( depending on numbers before 2003) made sofar ?? |

i suppose it is the most recent form the list. if you consider the last 5 digits are determining the production number _________________ Emulator Forum www.eiiiforum.com |

Mine is:

(21) A6003030900108

This one is actually my 2nd Andromeda. The first one was bought 6th Feb 2004, had a problem with one of the voices, sent it back and got another one in December 2004 (which still has a problem with one voice although less significant). I have written somewhere the SN of my first Andromeda but I don't remember where.

Maybe, there is a range of serial numbers with a naughty (or less naughty) voice. |

| Does it matter that the display reads "build 4-12-2002"? Or is that just the chip build date? |

But I won't have it long. It's got several problems, so I'll be sending it back. This is the second time they've sent me this one - with the same problems. Yeah, that's right.

And I won't be keeping this one either, unless I can get someone to promise they can repair it. Third shipment, second defective Andromeda, for those keeping score.

That's the firmware, not the manufacture date.

Version "4-12" dated "2002"

Got mine on eBay a couple years ago for $1800 (what a deal!) No problems except for the half-assed packaging... The seller had UPS pack it and they just put the A6 in a box and poured peanuts over it without bagging or wrapping it in anything. It took me several hours to dig all the styrofoam out of the audio jacks and I had to open the unit to get peanuts out from inside it. The tempo control was also damaged in shipping. If you ever have to ship a synth, always, ALWAYS pack it yourself!

Anyways, mine is (21)A60500117 (also an early production one, probably in the same batch as marzzz's) |
