I have just acquired an Andromeda A6 (s/n A6 003020400185). It sounds magnificent and seems to generally be working well. The OS version, however, is 01.40.02. I assume that I should update this to either 01.40.12 or 01.40.13. I have a recent i7 iMac and M-Audio Midisport Anniversary.

Is updating the OS risky? Also, I am a little unclear as to how to get the update to the A6. I have previously updated the OS on my Voyager using a program called SysEx Librarian, which seems like it might also work here. However, the Voyager has a menu pick to "Receive Update." Is there anything similar on the A6? I can't find any reference to it in the Update Instructions. Also, I downloaded OS Update 01.40.12 from the Alesis website, but SysEx Librarian doesn't seem to see it. Does it need t be unzipped or something?

Thanks a bunch in advance for the help

Upgraded to 1.40.13 and it went fine. So nevermind.

I found it on this forum. I am looking for the link. From reading, sounds like it never got officially out of beta, but it seems to work well.
