Second of three patch posts. This one covers "the basics".

NOTE: All recordings are processed, because I feel that it allows you to hear the Andromeda in context. I decided to use *no* FX for the synth stuff, and just run straight out of the Aux channel. The Aux channel it has been found to have better sound quality, so that works. Some patches still are pointed to the Aux port, be aware! Timeworks and Waves plugins were used to compress the sound and add EQ when I felt appropriate.

CARS LETS GO
The imitation of the Prophet 5 hard sync patch made (in?)famous by The Cars's "Let's Go". Yep, I use this song in my 80s band. Smile

CARS
I actually use this synth as a bassline for Gary Numan's "Cars", even though it's nothing like the original sound, we kind of rock the song out with a guitarist so it works. Here I'm demonstrating a sort of nice low-toned growl, and the ribbon controller makes for a nice way to modulate the filter, to be honest.

Sound sample: Play!

DEVO
This "whistle" sound, used in "Whip It" and Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop" in the 80s band,

In the recording, I give you a demonstration of two of the sounds. The first is as in the patch, with the levels cranked pretty high in the VCO and VCF mixers. The second is with the levels down around the 20 range. Note the difference in sound! I actually find the brighter, slightly more distorted sound in the upper range better in bands -- its more assertive -- but if you like the quiet, mellow analog angle -- remember to keep the levels down!

Sound sample: Play!

JUMP
No analog synth would be complete without a polyphonic saw patch. Smile Feel the love of the 1980s come to life! As far as poly saw patches go, the A6 seems to produce relatively harsh but powerful versions of the style. Go figure.

Sound sample: Play!
