Connecting my Doepfer to the outside world !

Hi all, I'm putting together a Doepfer modular system, and the thought just ocured to me, how do I get a signal out and into my mixer ?! I guess I have to use one of the mixer modules and route my finished patch through that to the audio output of that particular module ? This is my first foray into modular systems after years of using hard wired "off the shelf" synths. I know the basic principles of voltage control, and seemed quite confident, but now I'm actually faced with using one it's not so easy, I would be very grateful for any help.
