Can anyone help me out. I want to add a mosfet to this 555 pwm schematic because I don't want it to fry... How would I go about adding a transistor to it? Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

Well because I am using a 12v motor and will be using a 12v power supply... do you think it should be fine without a transistor?

I see
12V is fine for a 555, but maybe the current draw will be more of a concern. just a guess tho.

how about this circuit -
