Possibly dumb question here:
I'm wondering if the three rows of 156 connectors on the 960 are all interchangeable, in the sense that you can plug a +/-15v source into any of them, and plug the modules needing power into any other?
In other words, I assume there's no advantage in connecting the voltage source into the screw-down terminals on the ends?
Bonus question: can anyone tell me what the caps are for? The SynthTech site says it's for "bulk bypass capacitance" but I'm not sure what that means in this usage.

Not a dumb question, it comes up fairly often. And there are several answers. The one I like, and you'll probably like, is from Paul Schreiber directly - that yes, you can just plug a regular power connector from a 900 supply or whatever into one of the .156 connectors and power a few modules from the other connectors. I'll add that you probably don't want to power too many modules this way - if you're going to run more than 3 or 4, you probably want to use 16awg wire directly to the screw terminals.
The caps - I don't know. But I'm sure they do really good things, so don't worry about them. |

Still curious about those caps....
Should I assume that any given power supply that one would be connecting to it would have bypass caps of its own, and that those caps are just in keeping with the engineered-to-the-hilt nature of MOTM stuff? |

Do you know why this is the case? I'm using a 960 and am powering many modules just this way and want to know if I really should change it.
