Just to say hello, im back |
 |
|
Since my ancient PC died on me a few months ago Ive had to put up with all kinds of indignitys, like using the sequencer on the ensoniq vfx or going to the public libary to check emails, hence my lack of activity on this fine board so its good to see that it is still going strong and growing. I finally made the switch to mac and so far i have no regrets, prehaps i might even start making some music again once ive stopped marveling over my sexy new powerbook..
Anyway, I hope you are all well and being as productive as ever..

Welcome back, Rick.
Hope you enjoy your Power Book. I've had a G4 Power Book for about three months or so now. It's OK, but I'm not particularly thrilled with it. The one-button mouse is a limitation that constantly frustrates me. I don't want to say anything bad about it, but I can't find anything good to say either. Well, it does have very good battery life. |

Welcome back, Moors!
So you have a new PB! Grats! I guess you have already found http://www.versiontracker.com It is a nice place to find new software. Lotsa cool freeware for OS X these days.
Yes.. the ctrl, option and cmd keys pretty much does the same and more... but there is no problem connecting a multibutton mouse from Logitech , Kensington and others to the mac. If you already have one.. just get the drivers... its is often faster to find the drivers at http://www.versiontracker.com _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Yes, I know about the Option and Control keys, but on the Power Book, you have to use two hands. Ok on the Logitech mice, I use them on all of my computers. I'm particularly fond of the Cordless TrackMan Wheel, mouse. Still, I'm not much for lugging around a mouse with a lop top.
Different strokes...
Peace... |

Thanks for the pics!
I'll keep them in mind for when I read more English lit classics.
Looks quite a bit different from Wisconsin! |
