MOTM ultraVCO & Midi-CV Questions |
 |
|
Hi guys - I was just wondering if anyone has a list of the "hard to source" parts used in the MOTM ultraVCO & how many of each? I was partcularly worried about the matched FET pairs - is there more than one pair used in the module? Any ideas for UK/European sourcing of the tricky bits?
Also, I note that the MOTM Midi-CV converter doesn't seem to be available as a kit. Are there any similar quality Midi-CV modules offering similar featrues which are available as just a bare PCB, Front panel and programmed part only?
One last daft MOTM question - how is the front panel attached to the PCB in this design?
Any help greatly appreciated as always!

I don't have a good line on European parts providers. I know in the U.S. the MAT02 is available for Digikey, the FET (LS3954) is available from several spots, and also as a "replacement" NTE part, if you allow yourself to go for those.
Of more use to you might be the answer to the question how the board attaches to the front panel. The panel has two screws whose threads protrude from the rear. They can't be seen from the front as their heads are painted/anodized with the same pattern as the rest of the panel.
There is a flat bracket with two "L" shaped protrusions. The board is bolted to the bracket and then the bracket is bolted to the screws protruding from the back side of the panel.
Hope that's useful. |

Not exactly screws - they're actually welded on screw threads - there's no screw holes or anything in the panel. If you don't have the actual motm panel/bracket, you could just use a pot mounted bracket.
