Can anyone discern how such a thing might be created/built? Awesome fucking sounds. Thanks,

Marck Ferrari

As I understand it, the Booper is basically a circuit-bent transistor radio. The Weatherman isn't very clear about how it works - I'm not sure he really understands how it works Laughing

You could get similar sounds from a Lunetta or an MFOS Weird Sound Generator.

the Weatherman rules! (and that's an understatement)
To bad he's never on Over The Edge anymore Sad

I tried to create a booper like thingy but haven't been succesful yet.
The last time I tried it ended up as a distortion/fuzz effect (ol Dirty)

Should be titled "How to make a video about something and give absolutely no useful information...."

(sometimes you're just compelled to post the obvious)

Well, i've started working on bending a transistor radio. The first one i acquired produced nothing but hi-pitched tones and occasional white noise. This was achieved simply by shorting points with wire. If a resistor was introduced, it actually RAISED the pitch of the sound. I know little to nothing about circuits but this seemed odd. The 2nd unit i got seems to have much more possibilities. There are more points which produce oscillations at different volumes and pitches, and even timbres to some extent. Without a soldering iron I'm having trouble getting too deep into this thing, but I plan to dig mine out of storage very soon. I found one point where the overall volume control of the radio controlled the pitch. some switches and pots on the few points i have messed with would make for a neat noisemaker but I hope to eventually create the farting sounds the Weatherman got out of his. Well not specifically that, but that would be just great. More later,

Marck F.
