I really hate asking this, but skimming through tutorials and help files I didn't find the answer, so I thought I'd go ahead and shoot myself in the foot and ask (there's not much left of that foot anyhow- I'm gonna have to start shooting at the other).

My understanding is that you write your code in a text editor, save it as a '.ck' file, then open and run it with ChucK (and if this is not correct then would somebody please let me know!).

I can execute the example programs, but how does one launch any particular .ck file and be able to view and manipulate it while ChucK is running it?

(Win XP)

Thanks, Scott

I found the info I was looking for here:

http://wiki.cs.princeton.edu/forums.html/ChucK/WinXP_Install_and_Run

and thought I'd post it just in case anybody else has the same difficulty getting started that I did. And after following those instructions it becomes clear how to use miniaudicle to alter and start shreds.

Kassen, all is crystal clear Very Happy . I spent yesterday really getting in to it, and happily not only found the answers to my questions, but realized that the language will be easy for me to use- my JAVA experience has prepared me well. Can't wait to get back hope and return to it...

Thanks, Scott

Lovely, and it didn't even take any effort!

It's quite a bit like java, with some semantic sugar and some new tricks. You should be right at home. Welcome on board!
