Hi, I just recently started using chuck and will be doing some midi work with it primarily.
I was wondering how to get a chuck shred to act as a virtual midi device that other software can communicate with.

Hi unzz,

And welcome to the fantastic chuck world! Very Happy

Did you have look at the examples about midi. there is simple programs to understand how midi works in chuck.

I already used one virtual midi controler with chuck on windows. To connect both I had to use a kind of virtual midi hub: http://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html

Have fun,
Ju

Thanks Smile
And thanks for replying.

I think you misinterpreted my question slightly though. I am well aware of various ways to route midi on different platforms.

Now that I think about it, I think my question is linux specific. I guess specifically what I am wondering is if there is a way to make the chuck VM create alsa midi endpoints the way for example ZynAddSubFx or PureData does, that I can then connect however I want using Jack
